Moomba Masters 2008 Pre-Registration

The Victorian Waterski Association and the Chairman of the Moomba Masters Organising committee , Max Kirwan, are pleased to announce that Pre Registration has opened for the 2008 Moomba Masters and 2008 Junior Moomba.

The Moomba Masters show cases our sport like no other and forms part of one of Australia’s largest outdoor festivals. Held from Wednesday 5th– Monday 10th March 2008 the Moomba Masters has forged its way as one of the world’s greatest championships, celebrating its 48th year of successful competition in 2008. Now into its sixth decade, the event has evolved, constantly realigning itself to express Australia's and Melbourne’s distinctive and dynamic culture.

According to government surveys, 950,000 people attend the event making it one of Australia’s and the world’s most popular free sporting events. Be part of six spectacular days of world-class tournament water skiing and wakeboarding; which brings together the best athletes for the world’s premier professional event. The Moomba Masters spirit is entrenched in the Melbourne community and 2008 is planned to be bigger and better than ever before. If you have not experienced the Moomba Masters you simply have not experienced our sport in it’s true glory. Be a part of the Moomba Masters in 2008.

Pre-Register Now for Moomba Masters 2008!

We welcome all athletes to visit www.moombamasters.com.au and follow the pre-registration link or simply click on the pre-registration tab. Pre-registration and entry into Moomba 2008 has been streamlined and automated. Athletes registering for Moomba 2008 will receive instant notification of their registration and their information will be uploaded onto the running sheets. No faxes will be accepted.

The Moomba Masters Selection Committee will then use the most current available IWSF Elite Ranking List, IWSF Ranking list to choose the top 24 Men and top 12 Women slalom and jump skiers. The top 16 Men and top 12 women will be selected for trick skiing. Wakeboard will be top 12 men only. At the discretion of the Moomba Masters Selection Committee, there may be one final qualifying tournament (Australian Masters) for athletes who have not been selected into the main draw.

The final field will be announced and posted on the official Moomba Masters web site on 31st January 2008. Athletes who do not qualify through rankings lists can be kept up to date prior to the 31st January on their qualifying status via emailing grant.barnett@moombamasters.com.au or checking the official Moomba Masters web site
