Press Release from the Junior Moomba Masters Technical Committee
Entry into the Junior Moomba Masters will be by invitation only from those skiers who meet the minimum standard and who have pre-registered. In the event that the minimum standard has not been reached the Selection Committee may ad skiers below this level at their discretion.
International skiers who are invited to compete will make up a maximum of 50% of any event, an increase on previous years.
The Moomba Masters Selection Committee will use the most current available IWSF Junior Ranking list to choose the top junior skiers.
The 2 final qualifying competitions taken into consideration will be the Aussie Kiwi challenge in New Zealand and the Australian Masters tournament at Bridgewater on the 3rd and 4th of February 2008.
Only L Class tournaments will be considered for qualifying.
The final field will be announced and posted on the official Moomba Masters web site on 5th February 2008. Athletes who do not qualify through rankings lists can be kept up to date prior to the 5th February on their qualifying status via emailing grant.barnett@moombamasters.com.au or checking the official Moomba Masters web site.
To assist the international junior skiers wanting to book early plane tickets the selection committee will notify those who have automatically qualified by email on the 4th January 2008. Final placements for the full field cannot be confirmed until February 5th 2008.
