2009 Moomba Masters
Event Dates: Wednesday 4th March to Monday 9th March 2009
Location: The Yarra River, largely within the CBD, Swan Street Bridge area
Attendees: Professional Skiers, industry representatives, families, school groups and sports enthusiasts.
Cost: Entry is free and forms part of Melbourne's community festival program
Our own tournament waterski champions such as Emma Sheers (former World Champion in Jump and Slalom), Michale Briant, Joel Wing, Karina Nowlan and Ryan Green, to name a few, have ensured Australia is one of the international powers in the sport.
One of the innovations introduced by the Moomba Masters Invitational and now adopted by ski federations around the world is the Junior Masters competition. In 2008, junior skiers from the USA, France, Canada, New Zealand and from throughout Australia took part in the Junior Masters competition and gave us a glimpse of the future champions of the sport.
