During the Moomba Masters, there is also displays from the VWSA Ski Show division, for the thousands of spectators who line the banks of the Yarra River to watch the action on the water.
The 2013 event is on the 6th to the 1th March 2013.
Thank You
Hi to all,
Here we are a couple of weeks on and Moomba 2012 is over, what an event and what a year for some great PBs and records behind the Nautique boats. We started off with junior Moomba and there were Australia records being broken all over the place, not to mention the 1st class field we had which were second to none.
Glenn Sheldon our Chief Judge took over this year from Pam Beasley and what a job he did I could not speak highly enough of his service to the event. I know you are the quite achievers but without all the Australian and International judges, Brian and his team and Dave and his team the event could not continue and to you I thank you all.
Every year we have a great crew in the boats and Nautique supply us with the best so the two go hand in hand and always put on a first class show.
This year we got our Web cast up and running for the first time and that will now continue into the future and I can thank a personal friend of myself and Fran for that. It took a while to get it right and we only had proper cameras for the main days but over all I was happy to allow people to watch their loved ones compete.
The boat camera for trick was good but the quality was low but you get the same view as the judges, which was new to the event.
The Victorian wakeboard event went off well and Nigel Aiken did his job to put on a great event on both senior and Victorian competitions and succeeded and I thank him.
To all the people in the canteen Sue Tucker and her Family, my Family, Steve McKenzie and everybody else that helped, great effort to you all, and two of my mates that never want to see a hamburger as long as there alive. This weekend what are we doing BBQ at the school carnival.
We had great weather and the crowd this year has gone over 1.25 Million which is unheard of at a water ski event anywhere in the world.
To Wayne Briant and Bruce Cockburn I thank you very much the work you both do is above and beyond.
To the competitors I hope you had a great event and set the heights of heights and hope to see you back again.
It has been a hard road this year and it has bleed me and Fran of every bit of energy we have but were happy with the outcome.
Thank you to all
Regards Darren Robertson
